 Jim O'Connor
Vice-president and General Manager, Early Stage Accelerator
Motorola Inc.
Jim O'Connor is Vice President and General Manager of the Early Stage Accelerator. His responsibility is to drive strategies for innovative commercialization of new technologies. Prior to his current position, Jim was the Managing Director and co-founder of Motorola Ventures. His role as the Managing Director of Motorola Ventures included reviewing, investing, and managing the global minority equity opportunities strategic to Motorola's core and emerging businesses.
Prior to co-founding Motorola Ventures, Jim worked for the US government as an assistant to The Secretary of the Treasury. During his career in the Treasury Department, he was responsible for coordinating strategies on domestic financial policy, electric commerce, and community development policy. In addition to his Motorola career, Jim is very active in the Chicago Community. Jim received his BA and JD from Georgetown University and his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
